Contrary to reports that she had Ebola, it has been revealed that the Liberian woman known as Kate, committed suicide after she found out she was HIV positive. Reports say she had been struggling to treat herself for a while since she realized her status, but she was deserted by friends, colleagues and customers who were put off by her sickly appearance. She worked in a sachet water factory in Isheri, Lagos.
The issue of Ebola only made things more difficult for her and a friend gave her money to go and meet her husband in Liberia but she couldn't go because of the Ebola outbreak.
Tired of the frustration, she hanged herself on a pear tree.
