Ten (10) candidates for Lagos State gubernatorial race have stepped down for the All Progressives Congress (APC) standard-bearer, Akinwunmi Ambode with just eight days to the election.
The parties made the announcement yesterday at a meeting where they also encouraged their supporters to vote for Ambode of the APC.
“Without mincing words, we collectively as candidates of various political parties, have decided to join hands together with Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode of APC to give Lagosians a deserving government at this time,” part of the statement read.
The candidates who relinquished their gubernatorial ambitions for Ambode are the candidates of:
Accord Party (A), Adeshina Buruji
Independent Democrats (ID), Obadia Akinola
Action Alliance (AA), Ishola Aregbesola
Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Babatunde Sarumi
African People’s Alliance (APA), Abiodun Oyegunle
KOWA Party, Victor Adeniji
All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Adeshina Olayokun
New Nigeria’s People Party (NNPP), Sesan Olatunde
The Citizens Popular Party (CPP), Sylvester Eze; and
Progressives People’s Alliance (PPA), Pauline Ojochide.
