16-year-old Nigerian weightlifter Chika Amalaha has been stripped of her Commonwealth Games gold medal after failing a doping test. She won the 53-kilogram division last week making her the youngest ever female to win a weightlifting title at a Commonwealth Games but unfortunately a few days later, she tested positive for diuretics and masking agents.
Commonwealth Games Federation announced Friday, August 1 that her B sample also showed traces of the substances amiloride and hydrochlorothiazide, both of which are banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency... and said they will look into how she had access to the banned substances.
