Chelsea plans for new season thrown into disarray with Mohamed Salah set for Egypt return

CHELSEA's pre-season plans have been disrupted by the news that Mohamed Salah could be forced to go back to Egypt to carry out military service.

According to reports the tricky winger, signed from FC Basel for £11m in January, has had his registration for an education scheme rescinded by the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education. 

The education program allows the 22-year-old to travel abroad which is crucial for his footballing career. 

Kingfut.com notes that the cancellation of his registration means he will likely have to return to Egypt to serve the mandatory military service. 

As a result he could also be prevented from travelling outside the country if he was to return home.

Egypt National Team director Ahmed Hassan has been in contract with the Blues winger to try and resolve the situation. 

He said: “Salah has expressed his shock about the decision. He told me that he is trying to represent Egypt in the best way possible. Is this the best response from the country?”

The news has emerged just as Jose Mourinho has declared that Chelsea will not make any more signings this summer. 

"We finished the market today," he said. "The transfer market closes 31 August and we close on July 19."
