PHOTO OF THE DAY: This Ghanaian hawks watermelon in suit

Friday, May 08, 2015

Daniel Nartey is a 25-year old Ghanaian teacher. Not satisfied with the salary he earns, Nartey takes to the streets shortly after school closes to hawk watermelon.

However, what caught the attention of the BBC was that Daniel hawks in suit and office shoes.

Below is the reason Daniel gave for hawking in suit.

His reason:

My pastor always says dress well no matter the job you do, so I decided to wear a sui.
“Some laugh at me, others encourage me and are willing to help me.”

“I make 100% profit. I think it is because of how I dress, people notice me easily and want to buy from me,” he said.

PHOTO: This new version of the Bible replaces every mention of God with Kanye West

Tuesday, April 07, 2015

The Book of Yeezus is a hardback bible that replaces every mention of God with Kanye West's name. As blasphemous and offensive this book may appear to be, the creators argue that it’s only an “editorial art piece”. According to them:
This book wasn’t made to make fun at Kanye, or really even show or undying devotion towards him. Book of Yeezus is simply an exposition. It’s adding an original twist to something ancient and important in order to capture new meaning. We are trying to cast our spotlight towards the way cultural icons have come to be the contemporary spiritual figures in our information culture.
Each generation champions a superstar, so consistently relevant that they come to accompany that generation through its evolution, being a part of and ultimately shaping its identity. Such past icons have been the likes of Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, or Michael Jackson. For this generation, Generation Y, Kanye West is not only its greatest spectacle, but in some senses, a spiritual figure. We are here to spread a doctrine. Well, a pseudo-doctrine.

After the sitting President, Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and now President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari in the just concluded presidential election, some Nigerians have taken it upon themselves to bury what is left of the PDP according to Islamic rites even before the official handover ceremony slated for the 29th day of May, 2015.

The photo above shows how jubilant some of our countrymen are at the moment. Oh! Did you notice the fedora hat?

PHOTO OF THE DAY: Forever young is in our minds

Saturday, February 21, 2015

There is a CD making waves around here titled Mbaka Why. Ordinarily, I would have let you find what is wrong with the above picture yourself but then... I want to ask this Nigerian celebrity WHY he has doctored his date of birth. Yes, no one wants to get old - we all want to live young forever - but sir, how smart are you? You mean to tell the world that you were 3-years-old when you entered secondary (high) school?

This man finds comfort with President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP. But finds shelter under General Buhari and the APC.
