President Goodluck Jonathan while addressing a large crowd that turned out at Eagles Square on Tuesday, formally declared that he will seek a second term of office at next year’s general election.
“I, Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, have accepted to present myself on the platform of the PDP,” he told supporters of his party at a mass rally held today in Abuja.
Jonathan has been the Head of State since 2010 when he assumed office following the death of former president Umara Yar’Adua. He won the Presidential election in 2011.
